On the slopes of Vesuvius, overlooking the Gulf of Naples we found ourselves in the maritime town of Torre del Greco. There, beside an expansive outdoor pavilion we came upon a jewel of a workshop that housed a sixth generation cameo carver who exceeded our every expectation.
