Sandy Cohen

At the age of 8, Sandy Cohen was the youngest student enrolled in a college level art program at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
She has been formally trained in paint, water color, mixed media, sculpting and photography. Diagnosed with an autoimmune disease at the age of 20, Sandy is intermittently confined to a wheel chair and the condition has informed her art to a degree.
Her work often references Disney and Tex Avery characters that tell a story with an underlying message reflecting current social conditions. She has shown at Art Basel, with the Oliver Cole Gallery and Soho Ink. Her work has been exhibited at the Museo de Arte y la Cultura de Santa Fe in Medellin, Columbia and is collected by the Royal Family of Morocco, the Stern Family, et al.
